Castleisland District Heritage

Castleisland District Heritage is a voluntary, non-profit local history and heritage project preserving the history of Castleisland and its hinterlands in County Kerry. Established in 2014 as the Michael O’Donohoe Memorial Heritage Project, it has built an archive of documents, books, photographs, and artefacts, and published over 300 articles on its website. The project also gained three posthumous Presidential Pardons for men wrongfully convicted of murder in the nineteenth century.
