The project includes a motorway upgrade from Attyflin to Rathkeale, a dual carriageway from Foynes to Rathkeale, and a service area for heavy goods vehicles near Foynes. An Bord Pleanála approved the scheme in 2022, and construction of the Adare Bypass is being advanced.
