The Institute of Geologists of Ireland (IGI) is a professional body that provides accreditation for geoscientists in Ireland. It offers membership to practising geoscientists, maintains specialist registers in areas such as hydrogeology, pyrite, waste disposal and contaminated land, and provides continuing professional development and training. The IGI also promotes geosciences and represents members nationally and internationally.
